Minecraft is now available on Xbox Game Pass for PC, including Java and Bedrock Editions.

The Java and Bedrock editions of Minecraft will be coming to Xbox Game Pass on PC this November, making the game playable on more platforms.

Xbox Game Pass subscribers will soon get the chance to experience Minecraft's Bedrock and Java editions on PC. This means that players will be able to download and play the game on platforms that support Java as well as those that do not.

Known as one of the best-selling games of all time, Minecraft has certainly had a storied history, cultivating dedicated fanbases both on PC and on consoles. The game first launched on Microsoft Windows, macOS and Linux back in 2011 and has been a phenomenon ever since. Minecraft made its way onto consoles and mobile devices not long after, further increasing its massive player base. Players in Minecraft are given a multitude of different tools to survive against enemies and to exercise their creativity, allowing for ingenious creations like an impressive Minecraft map room with a glass floor. While the game was initially coded in Java, it has since been redesigned with the general-purpose programming language C++, making it playable on different platforms.

Gamers who have been putting off playing Minecraft can now access it on PC through Microsoft's massively popular Xbox Game Pass, according to a recent update shared during Minecraft Live 2021 on the Minecraft YouTube channel. The update covered a great deal of new content and DLC packs that are getting added to the game, and also announced that both the Java and Bedrock editions would become accessible through the popular subscription service. Anyone with a valid Xbox Game Pass membership can download these versions of the game this November.
