Kate Middleton Just Wore This Zara Dress for a Second Time
Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, can make even the most affordable brand look couture, again and again.
Exhibit A: During an October 5 visit to the University of London (for its Children of the 2020s project), she rocked a gray patterned dress that looked royally formal but was actually an off-the-rack buy from Zara. She's worn the dress before, according to Hello!, proving that getting good use out of even your cheaper clothes is always the sartorially smart move.
For the visit, Middleton paired the frock with gray heels, creating a muted but not boring aesthetic. Because the dress is a few seasons old, you can't find it on the Zara site (though feel free to scour Depop if you're a duchess-wardrobe completist), but there are plenty of similar styles you can nab ASAP for fall.
This tartan has just a hint of the schoolgirl look appropriate for a visit to a university. Needless to say, Kate Middleton knows how to tailor a look to the occasion. In late September, for example, she wore a dazzling gold gown with a cape (a cape!) to the premiere of the latest James Bond flick, No Time to Die. If only such items were also available at Zara.

Early-childhood education has long been a passion of Middleton's, and she wrote a bit about this latest project on her and Prince William's Instagram page. “Our early childhoods shape our adult lives and knowing more about what impacts this critical time is fundamental to understanding what we as a society can do to improve our future health and happiness,” she wrote. “@UCL's landmark ‘Children of the 2020s’ study will illustrate the importance of the first five years and provide insights into the most critical aspects of early childhood, as well as the factors which support or hinder positive lifelong outcomes. I am committed to supporting greater in-depth research in this vital area and I’m delighted to be meeting all those behind the study at this early stage.”
