“[My husband] still thinks I'm a hot chick!”
Dolly Parton's husband, Carl, turned 79 on July 20, and she celebrated by recreating one of her most iconic looks: her 1978 Playboy cover.
“You're probably wondering why I'm dressed like this,” Parton said in an Instagram video wearing a get-up very similar to what she wore for Playboy. (Bunny ears? Check. Bowtie? Check. Strapless bustier? Check.) “Some time back, I said I was gonna pose for Playboy when I was 75. Well, I'm 75, and they don't have a magazine anymore. But my husband always loved the original cover [I did] for Playboy, so I was trying to think of something to do to make him happy. He still thinks I'm a hot chick after 57 years, and I'm not gonna try to talk him out of that.”

I don't think anyone needs to be talked out of that. Parton looks amazing in the outfit. Check out the video for yourself, above, and compare it to the original shot, below. Both pics are iconic!
“What I did for his birthday, I did a little photo shoot,” Parton said. “I had a cover made of the new Dolly. I was kind of a little butter ball [in the original Playboy photo]. Well, I'm string cheese now, but he'll probably think I'm cream cheese. I hope!”
Dolly Parton and Carl Thomas Dean have been married since 1966. "I've been married for 53 years come next May, and my husband and I have a great relationship," she told People in 2018. "I always joke and laugh when people ask me what's the key to my long marriage and lasting love. I always say ‘Stay gone!’ and there’s a lot of truth to that. I travel a lot, but we really enjoy each other when we’re together and the little things we do."
This birthday surprise is certainly proof of that.
